New Simulation: System Balancing
The System Balancing Simulation was initially developed for Trianel (E-World 2012) to coincide with their theme: “Look with us towards the future” to highlight the need for flexible generation to balance wind intermittency. The Simulation is designed to be a fun, yet informative insight into a highly political and critical challenge that faces many TSOs and the industry in the coming years.

German Energy Market Simulation Workshop in Ljubljana
17th March 2012, Ljubljana, in co-operation with Montel & NCE Halden, Marlin ran a German electricity market simulation workshop. The workshop allowed Slovenian traders and analysts to gain insights into one of Europe's largest and most liberalised markets. |

First Turkish Workshop
On the 12.01.2012 Marlin completed the first EFET Academy Trading Workshop at the ETD (Enerji Ticareti Derneği) offices in Istanbul. Attendees of the workshop came from several different ETD member companies. |

On 21/10/2011 and 01/11/2011 Assessment Centres were conducted in Amsterdam and Hamburg. Marlin developed special scenarios to place the candidates in a variety of high pressure and uncertain trading situations, where they were ultimately forced to make commercial decisions. |

Building a bridge between academia and industry
For the second year running, Marlin sponsored the Energy and Finance Conference. About 150 representatives from academia and the energy industry gathered on the 5th and 6th of October 2011 in Rotterdam for a series of presentations.
